FREMONT, Calif. — Hazel L. Washington, formerly of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, in Fremont, Calif. She was 78.

Ms. Washington was a former member of King Solomon M.B. Church. She graduated from Bowman High School and Tougaloo College.  

She retired from the State of California and was a member of the Family Bible Fellowship Church in Fremont, where she was a member of the Sunday school and Wise Warriors.

She is survived by her son, Bernard Callaway, of Fremont; and other relatives, including Frank James Jr. and Mattie L. Brown of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, Calif.
