William Henry Warren

William Henry “Lasses” Warren died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.
Mr. Warren was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. He was a retired career truck driver for Arkansas Best Freight and an Army veteran. He was a member of Paragon Masonic Lodge No. 7 and Tyner-Ford American Legion Post 213.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Pearl Dixon Warren; four wives, Ruby Warren, Thelma Warren, Eunice Warren and Christine Warren; eight sisters, Mary Johnson, Doretha Jackson, Emma Elliot, Lorraine McAlpin, Alma Brown, Clara Dupree, Lucille Hampton and Lula Jones; two brothers, Johnny Warren and Ruben Warren Sr.; and a stepson, Ronnie Owens.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Alexander of Los Angeles and Patricia Player of Detroit; three sons, William Warren Jr. of Detroit, Glennard Warren of Vicksburg and Rance Warren of Baton Rouge; one stepdaughter, Karen Ortiz of Philadelphia; five stepsons, Charles Perkins of Long Beach, Calif., Joseph Perkins of Orange, Calif., and Keith Shaffer, Terry Shaffer and Chad Shaffer, all of Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
