• Second-graders are using egg cartons as part of a study of the 12 apostles. Mr. and Mrs. Chat Ragland treated the students to snow cones from the Sugar Shack in Yazoo City. Daisy Anderson, art teacher, made piggy banks for the students using recycled items.
• Evelyn Lamanilao, nurse and parent volunteer, spoke to kindergarten classes of Zena Phillips and Janie Hollowell about healthy eating and good manners.
• Sixth-graders who led announcements and morning prayers were Sarah Ruth Andrews, Alexa Baldizon, Travis Blanche, Blaine Butler, Matthew Chambers, Joshua Daffron, Luke Dial, Derek Dolan, Drake Dorbeck, Alyssa Engel, Anna Fletcher, Katelyn Foley, Ashton Ghrigsby and Meredith Hall.
• William “Key” Davis shared watermelons with students of Ashley Coomes, Liz Fletcher, Shelley Nosser and Sharon Young.
• St. Francis Xavier students participated in an Olympics closing ceremony by parading flags they had made, singing the closing song under the direction of Caroline Gatling and receiving medals for activities held during Mindy Giambrone’s physical education classes.
