Mr. and Mrs. Billy Shinn of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Mindy Michelle, to Marcus Bradley McBride of Ridgeland. Mr. McBride is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve McBride of Brookhaven.

Miss Shinn is the granddaughter of Jess Morrell Ross and the late Joseph R. Morrell of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Shinn of Meridian.

Mr. McBride is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moore and Mr and Mrs. L.J. McBride, all of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the varsity choir and Madrigals. She attended Hinds Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she received her phlebotomy certification.

Miss Shinn is a medical assistant for Dr. Yoshinobu Namihira at Better Living Clinic and Endoscopy Center.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Brookhaven High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the football and golf teams. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a bachelor of science degree in management information systems.

Mr. McBride is an imaging coordinator for Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens and Cannada PLLC.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 25, 2008, at Highland Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
