Jonathan Hyder Sr.

HERMANVILLE — Jonathan Hyder Sr. died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 51.

A Hermanville resident, Mr. Hyder was retired from the Coast Guard. He was a member of China Grove M.B. Church in Russum, where he was in the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Myles Hyder of Hermanville; two sons, Anthony Hyder and Jonathan Hyder Jr., both of Hermanville; his mother, Bessie Sanders of Lorman; seven brothers, Perry Tolliver and Willie Sanders, both of Vicksburg, Shelby Sanders and Kent Sanders, both of Lorman, Sylvester Hyder of Port Gibson, Brent Tolliver of Winterhaven, Fla., and Stanley Sanders of Delray Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Andrea Sanders of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Demetha Sanders of Germany and Connie Hyder of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Ethel Myles and Eddie Myles of Hermanville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at China Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
