Madison Parish property tax rates will remain at last year’s total of 4.56 mills, the Madison Parish Tax Assessor’s Office said Friday.

The move keeps the rate even with last year’s calculation, which was raised from 3.22 the previous fiscal year.

Rates are set by the Madison Parish Assessment District, with Tax Assessor Jim D. Sevier as its lone member. As with other Louisiana parishes, the Sheriff’s Office is the ex-officio tax collecting agency.
