Sara Elizabeth Smira of Florence, bride-elect of Stephen Maurice Yates of Utica, announces their wedding plans for 6 p.m. Sept. 20, 2008, on the beach at Fort Morgan, Ala. A reception will follow at the Cabana Beach House.

Miss Smira is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smira of Monticello and Beth Webb Smira of Richland.

Mr. Yates is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Yates of Utica.

The Rev. Robert Hill will officiate at the ceremony. The bride will be given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor will be Jilliane Montgomery of Nashville, Tenn. Lee Yates of Utica will serve as best man.
