Services for Gladys Nichols Butler will be at noon Thursday at Family Life Cathedral with Pastor Dennis Redden officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Clinton. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 tonight at Mount Pisgah M.B. Church.

Mrs. Butler died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Mrs. Butler retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District and as a cosmetologist. She was a longtime Vicksburg resident and a member of Mount Pisgah M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David O. and Lillie B. Nichols; and two brothers, David O. Nichols Jr. and Robert L. Nichols.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Butler Sr.; two sons, Charles E. Butler Jr. and David H. Butler, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Charmane L. Buie, Lydia B. Claiborne, Margarette Y. Butler and LaDawn L. Butler, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Helen L. Sherrell of Gary, Ind., and Shirley A. Crute of Hudson, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
