Mildred E. Buell

Mildred E. Buell died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Heritage House Retirement Center. She was 83.

Born in Baskin, La., she was the daughter of the late W.L. Finklea and Mamie Boggs Finklea.

A former resident of Nesbit, Miss., she was a longtime resident of Vicksburg. While living in Nesbit she was active in garden clubs and was recognized through the Home Demonstration Club for her cooking and recipes.

Mrs. Buell was president of Heritage House Resident Council at the time of her death and a communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church.

She is survived by six sons, Jimmy M. Buell and his wife, Nina, and Tommy C. Buell and his wife, Marsha, all of Vicksburg, William Edward Buell III and his wife, Sue, of Hodges, S.C., Charles Glenn Buell and his wife, Ellen, of Horse Shoe Lake, Ark., Christopher Jerry Buell and his wife, Carol, of Riverside, Calif., and Paul Kevin Buell of Texas; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Finklea of Brentwood, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwin Buell; and a son, Danny G. Buell.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Administrator Robert Greer and the staff of the Heritage House Retirement Center for the loving care, devotion and many kindnesses given to Mrs. Buell.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Bob Buell, Mike Buell, Andrew Joseph Buell, Tommy Michael Buell, Thomas C. Buell Jr. and Jimmy Wayne Buell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Coccaro, Hugh Logue, Kevin Blue, Brad Bushlan and Joey Ramshur.
