CRYSTAL SPRINGS — Dorothy Drake Turner died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 75.

Mrs. Turner was a member of Gatesville Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary, taught Sunday school for more than 20 years and was superintendent of the Sunday night training union.

She served as secretary of the Copiah County Republican Party and worked as a volunteer at Copiah Living Center and Pinecrest Guest Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Ross Turner Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Haskell Ross Turner III of Terry and James Grady Turner of Crystal Springs; two daughters, Kathleen Turner Phelps of Zachary, La., and Ann Dahl of Bergen, Norway; one sister, Jeannene Ann Patterson of Trussville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stringer Family Chapel in Crystal Springs. Burial will follow at Gatesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
