Michael Ellis Moses Sr.

Mr. Michael Ellis Moses Sr. died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Covenant Health and Rehabilitation. He was 97.
Born in Lebanon, Mr. Moses was a longtime resident of Vicksburg. He was a grocery merchant for many years. He was the oldest member of St. George Orthodox Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Moses of Vicksburg; daughter, Dorothy Moses Mauro and husband Ken of Littleton, Colo.; three sons, Charles M. Moses and wife Kimberly of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Michael E. Moses Jr. and wife Kelly of Biloxi and Ronnie D. Moses and wife Beverly of Brandon; eight grandchildren, Lisa, Karen, Steve, Tony, Leslie, Natalie, Molly and Michael; and six great-grandchildren, Keenan, Sam, Ben, Alex, Sophia and Billy.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at St. George Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. John Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home with Trisagion prayers at 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Halford, Tony Mauro, Steve Mauro, Jim Angelo, Michael Moses III, Dewey Sadka Jr., Emile Petro Jr. and Johnny Price.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Thornton, George Mitchell, Philip George, Charles Abraham, Elias Rantisi and Wiley Magee.
