Achievements
• Vicksburg students selected as members of the Hinds Community College homecoming court were Lacie Wells, sophomore, and Laquita Wells, freshman. They will be presented during halftime ceremonies Thursday during the football game vs. Jones County Junior College.
Honor rolls
• Aimée D. Brown Williams was named to the dean’s list for the Summer 2008 session at both the University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was elected secretary for the USM chapter of Psi Chi national psychology honor society. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from USM in 2007 with a minor in forensic science. She is the daughter of Verná V. Brown of Diamondhead and Vicksburg and Dennis M. Williams of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Eunice “Charlie” and Estella M. Brown and the late Arthur Williams and Luella Williams, all of Vicksburg.
Scholarships
• National Association of Junior Auxiliaries Inc. is accepting applications for its Graduate Scholarship Program. Applicants must be pursuing graduate-level studies for one year in fields which address the special needs of children and youth — counseling, psychology, mental development, special education, speech pathology, remedial skills, hearing impaired and gifted.
