Mary Nan Hebler

Mrs. Mary Nan Hebler, age 93, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at River Region Medical Center.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hebler was born in Fayette and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 26 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick T. Hebler Sr.; and brothers, Brown Nevels, Joseph Nevels and James Nevels.
As the matriarch, she was adored by her entire family. Always so young at heart, she had a wealth of affection for all she knew and loved, and she had a wonderful zest for life.
After moving back to Vicksburg in 1982, Mrs. Hebler was a member of the Homemakers Club for a number of years. She was also a member of Floral Garden Club, serving as both vice president and president of the club. She also served on the Vicksburg Council of Garden Clubs. In earlier years, she was a member of United Methodist Women, serving in numerous capacities. She was a member of Bovina Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Harris of Houston, Texas, Jerane Gordon of Vicksburg and Martha Foster of Georgetown, Texas; her sons, Larry L. Gordon of Riverside, Calif., and Patrick T. Hebler Jr. of Vicksburg; her sisters, Virginia Williams of Wharton, Texas, and Martha Evans of Vicksburg; her brother, Wayne Q. Nevels of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
