EVENTS|Fall fun in full bloom with festivals, tours, trick-or-treating
Fall has made its way to Vicksburg and, with the change of season, come October events. Starting Saturday and running through the end of the month, a fall festival, book-signings and other happenings will fill the Vicksburg-area events calendar.

Vicksburg’s 14th annual Downtown Fall Festival, set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, will feature entertainment by The Chill, children’s activities, exhibitions and more along Washington Street. Admission is free.

The 26th Annual Old Court House Flea Market, set for 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, will feature dozens of food and vendor booths with homemade goods. Music will be played by the Mississippi Old Time Music Society on the courthouse lawn, and the museum will be open for tours.

This bike rally, set for Oct. 10-12, will feature entertainment, camping, bike games, a poker run and more. Admission is $30 per person for a weekend pass or $10 per person for Oct. 10, $20 for Oct. 11, $5 per day for children 7-14 and free for children younger than 7. Camping is $10 per site.

This year’s event, called the Tour of Historic Homes and Hallways, will kick off Oct. 10 and wrap up Oct. 25. Tours will be offered from 1 until 4 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. A three-home tour is $25, and a one-home tour is $10. Homes on the blue tour are Annabelle, The Corners Mansion Inn and the Shlenker House and tickets for that group can be purchased at Annabelle, 501 Speed St. The green tour will feature the Baer House, Martha Vick House and Stained Glass Manor; tickets can be bought at the Baer House, 1117 Grove St.
Over the River Run

Set for 8 a.m. Oct. 11, this event will feature a 5-mile walk, 5-mile run and 1-mile fun run. Events will take place on the U.S. 80 bridge over the Mississippi River. Proceeds will benefit the United Way of West Central Mississippi. Registration information and fees can be found online or via phone.
