Together…again|Culkin, Jett and Redwood grads plan three-school reunion

A group of grads from the old Culkin, Jett and Redwood schools are once again working on a reunion.
“It’s been five yeas since we last got together,” Annie Warnock said. “And interest has grown each year.”
The reunion will be Oct. 18, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Clear Creek Pavilion at Bovina.”
The three schools made up the nucleus of the Warren County school system in the era between 1916 and 1965, and all three included first through 12th grades. The rivalry, according to Warnock, was fierce between the schools, but today it’s all about “memories of the good old days and a rekindling of hearts.”
Occasionally, a flickering of rivalry returns when ball games and track meets are brought to mind, and play-by-play events are remembered a bit differently, according to Warnock.
The reunion event is open to all who attended one of the three schools prior to and including 1965. There will be a $5 fee, and each person is asked to bring a dish and his/her own drinks. A special part of the afternoon will be devoted to honoring teachers from the three schools in attendance and those who are deceased.
“If you are one of the hundreds of teachers or students that walked the halls of Culkin, Jett or Redwood during the years before Warren Central was opened, make your plans to celebrate a bygone era that we strive to keep alive,” Warnock said.
