JACKSON — Entergy Mississippi customers will see a reduction in monthly electric bills with the company’s fourth-quarter fuel adjustment, which took effect Wednesday.
The quarterly adjustment, effective from October through December, will reduce residential bills by $10.50 per 1,000 kilowatt hours.
The rate decrease comes on top of a mid-quarter adjustment in September that lowered bills.
On July and August bills, Entergy Mississippi customers saw a 28 percent rate hike the company blamed on the volatility of the natural gas market. Natural gas prices have risen more than 120 percent since last year. However, in late July, prices began dropping, leading to downward adjustments.
Entergy Mississippi, a subsidiary of New Orleans-based Entergy Corp., provides electricity for 443,000 customers in 45 counties, including Warren.
