Edna Earline Smith was born Sept. 18., 1922, to Rinaldo and Annie Pittman in Crystal Springs. She graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1940.

After World War II, she married Wilmer Smith of Foley, Ala., and moved to Vicksburg, where she resided until her death.

As a medical secretary, she worked at both the Mercy Hospital and the Vicksburg Hospital. She also worked as a legal secretary in several law firms in Vicksburg. After retiring, she devoted herself to caring for her aging parents.

Her beloved husband, Wilmer, passed away on Feb. 5, 2002. Earline passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2008.

She is survived by her son, Gary, residing in Richland, Wash., and an aunt, Catherine Mohon, residing in Jackson.

Visitation will be held at Fisher Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, followed by services at Green Acres Memorial Park.
