Wal-Mart employee arrested in store scam

A Wal-Mart SuperCenter employee was charged Wednesday night with embezzlement.

Joseph Bruce Dickinson, 18, 301 B N. Fairview Drive, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. at the store at 2150 Iowa Blvd.

Vicksburg police said Dickinson is accused of stealing $1,100 by using stolen gift cards and returning purchased items for the cash.

He was released from Warren County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

 

Truck, flowers taken in two city thefts

Two thefts were reported in Vicksburg Wednesday.

A 1995 red Mazda B2200 pickup was reported missing from the 4100 block of Washington Street on Wednesday at 10:25 p.m. No tag information was available.

Two ferns in hanging baskets, 12 lilies, 18 Confederate jasmines, six chrysanthemums and other flowers with a value of $715 were reported stolen at 12:12 p.m. from Warrenton Farm and Garden, 5320 U.S. 61 South.
