Published 12:00 am Friday, October 10, 2008

City of Vicksburg Sewer Department worker Brandon Jackson, left, and Walter Smith, a foreman, shovel in dirt and gravel to fill a hole where they replaced about 60 feet of an 8-inch sewer main at Cherry and Grove streets Thursday.  The sewer main had collapsed and caused sewage to back up out of the manhole earlier in the week.
