Sidney Hill Neal passed from this life to meet his maker on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008. He was 65.

Mr. Neal was born in Monticello, Miss., to Walter M. and Laura H. Neal. He attended Monticello High School where he lettered in sports and was chosen Class Favorite. He graduated in 1961 and joined the United States Marines. Upon his honorable discharge, he moved to Vicksburg where he worked for Equifax Insurance Company. After retirement, he worked for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and, most recently, for the Emergency Management Center of Warren County. He was an avid golfer and was known by those close to him as an honest man with a kindred spirit who was always giving and never asking of others. He will be especially missed for his dry wit and beautiful singing, which he often shared with family and friends, church congregations and recent class reunion.

In addition to his parents and an infant sister, Reda, Mr. Neal was preceded in death by a brother, Max Neal; sisters, Helen Lambert and Bobbie Reed; and nephew, Bruce Neal.
