Mr. and Mrs. Al Wallace of Madison and Mr. and Mrs. Derrick Scott of Lucedale announce the engagement of their daughter, Halley Elizabeth Scott, to Charles Phillips Strickland.

Mr. Strickland is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Strickland of Vicksburg.

Miss Scott is the granddaughter of Mendel Wachsman and the late Nell Wachsman and the late Keith Scott and Laverne Scott, all of Lucedale.

Mr. Strickland is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Phillips Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Strickland, all of Opp, Ala.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Madison Central High School and a 2008 graduate of Belhaven College.

She is employed with the Madison County School District.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Vicksburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University.

He is employed with the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office.

Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Oct. 25, 2008, at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Jackson. A reception will follow.

All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

The couple will make their home in Jackson.
