Services for Barbara Cook Jones will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. church No. 1 on Fifth North Street with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 74.

Mrs. Jones was retired from the YMCA and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Cook Sr.; her mother, Willie B. Ellis; a brother, Ernest Cook; and two sisters, Janie C. Williams and Stella Cason.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Jones of Vicksburg; four sons, Willie Jones of Virginia, Elbert Jones of Atlanta and David Jones and Ernest Jones, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Norma L. Driver of Birmingham, Ala., Lisa C. Jones of San Antonio, Texas, and Verma Jones and Gloria Jones, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, James Ellis of Chicago and Willie Cook Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Evelyn Gray and Josephine Tolliver, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Ellis and Juanita Boyd, both of Baltimore; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
