Lester Bowman III

SAN FRANCISCO — Lester Bowman III died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at the VA Hospital in San Francisco He was 52.
Mr. Bowman was born in Vicksburg. He graduated from Killeen High School in Killeen, Texas, and worked as a medical specialist in the Army, receiving a marksman’s medal.
He moved to San Francisco, where he worked for Geneva Towers Apartments.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Bowman Jr.; his grandfather, Bertram Lester Johnson; and his great-grandmother, Emma Havard Jones.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta Johnson Bowman of Oakland, Calif.; a daughter, Tana Bowman of Opelousas, La.; a son, Lester Bowman IV of Opelousas; five sisters, Vickie LaVern Perry, Joy Denise Bowman, Vanessa Renay Bowman and Lisa Evetta Bowman, all of California, and Brenda Morley of Chicago; his grandmother, Flora Havard Johnson, of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins and other relatives and friends, including Evelyn Raglin, Barbara Johnson White and Rosie Lee Bowman Gray.
Funeral services were Oct. 8, 2008, under the direction of Duggan Funeral Services in San Francisco.
