Members of The Lutheran Church of the Messiah, young and old alike, are busy this week in preparation for the church’s annual Germanfest set for Saturday. And the public is invited to join in the celebration; it’s the 20th year for the festive food event.
From 4 to 7 p.m. there will be typical German foods for purchase at the church, 301 Cain Ridge Road. The Bratwurst Plate features a Usinger famous bratwurst sausage from Wisconsin and it’s served with potato salad and a roll. Then there is the Hot Dog plate with a tasty dog on a bun with chips and beans on the side. The Bratwurst Plate is $8; the Hot Dog Plate is $4.
Delicious desserts to go with the plates can be purchased. And carryout dinners will be available.
A lively affair
Lots of German polka music will entertain those in attendance at the Germanfest, and, as always, multigenerational families will be involved.
“Come join the fun and enjoy great foods at our 20th celebration,” say the church members.
Cain Ridge Road can be accessed from Halls Ferry Road and from Highway 61 South.
