Keaton Jones finished fourth overall, and eighth-grader Taylor Thomason was fifth, as Vicksburg’s boys and girls cross country teams both placed second in the team standings at the Region 3-4A cross country meet on Thursday.

Thomason led a strong charge for Vicksburg in the girls meet. Five runners finished in the top 14, and three in the top 10. In addition to Thomason, Allison East was seventh and Shelby Wright eighth.

In the boys’ meet, Jones was followed by four VHS runners who swept the 11th through 15th places — Caleb White, Kyle Davidson, William Brokaw, Paul Velasquez and Jeremy Carroll.
