PORT GIBSON — Brooks Williams Jr. died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Grand Gulf Inn. He was 29.

A native of Claiborne County, Mr. Williams was a resident of Dekalb, Ga. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mahalia Newsome.

Survivors include his father, Brooks Williams Sr. of Port Gibson; one son, Jamal Florence of Atlanta; four daughters, Angela Johnson of Port Gibson, Makalyah Williams of Lithonia, Ga., and Bianca Florence and Lisa Florence, both of Atlanta; two sisters, Angie Williams of Iraq and Veronica Williams of Lithonia; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Central Church of Christ with the Rev. Eugene Carney officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 7 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
