Georgia A. Johnson Wilson

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Georgia A. Johnson Wilson died Sunday, Oct. 26, at her home. She was 61.
Mrs. Wilson received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi Valley State College in 1970. She moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the Federal Government and the Department of Labor/Pensions Benefits Guaranty Corp. She was a member of Master’s Touch Praise Ministries where she served as chairman of the trustee board, former superintendent of the Sunday school and a member of the Prayer Band.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Julia Washington Johnson; a brother, Isaac Johnson Jr.; two sisters, Sarah R. Johnson and Annie Bell Carroll.
Survivors include eight brothers, Edward G. Johnson of Chicago, the Rev. Hugh M. Johnson and Coney Johnson, both of Port Gibson, James H. Johnson of Downers Grove, Ill., Elvin L. Johnson, Ulessiah O. Johnson and Charlie E. Johnson, all of Jackson, and Tommy L. Johnson of Grambling, La.; four sisters, Frances R. Allen of Chicago, Minnie L. Broadway of Champaign, Ill., and Linda R. Johnson and Geraldine Johnson, both of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends, including Howard L. Johnson, Robert Brown and Shelley Mack.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Awesome Christ Warriors Tabernacle in Russum, Miss., with the Rev. Chester Watts officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Grove Christian Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
