From staff reports
“Gold in the Hills” will partner with area restaurants Saturday night to present “A Taste of Vicksburg,” a sampling of about 20 of Vicksburg’s restaurants.
“They’re going to bring samples of their foods to the Hotel Vicksburg,” said Buddy Hallberg, long-time patron and current director of the melodrama. “Those who attend can choose from any of the restaurants, whatever food they’re partial to. After everyone has had their supper, we’ll go in and see the performance of ‘Gold in the Hills.’”
Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain opens at 8:15 p.m. in the Coral Room at the Vicksburg, 801 Clay St.
Tickets, $35 for adults and $25 for seniors 55 and older and children 12 and younger, will be available at the door or can be reserved by calling 601-636-0471.
“Gold in the Hills” is listed in the “Guinness Book of World Records” as the world’s long-est-running melodrama, and features members of the audience throwing peanuts at the villain.
