PORT GIBSON — Sarah Young Chambers died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 94.

Mrs. Chambers was a member and mother at Morningstar M.B. Church. She was a member of the Baptist and Christian Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, West and Lou Hart; and a daughter, Gola M. Sanders.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy Sanders of Napoleonville, La.; two daughters, Elizabeth Newsome of Vicksburg and Rachel Ward of Port Gibson; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morningstar M.B. Church with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be at McCay Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
