City man jailed on Florida theft warrant

A Vicksburg man was being held in the Warren County Jail this morning stemming from a warrant issued in Osceola, Fla.

Jonathan Woodham, 46, 196 Arrow Leaf Drive, was arrested Thursday at 8:39 p.m. near the Clay Street exit from Interstate 20, Sheriff Martin Pace said. After a traffic violation, a routine driver’s license check revealed that Woodham was wanted in Kissimmee for grand theft.

He was being held without bond pending extradition to Florida, Pace said.

CD player, lawn tools missing in city burglaries

Two burglaries were reported to Vicksburg police  Thursday, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.

At 9:29 a.m., a 1997 Buick was reported burglarized in the 1400 block of Farmer Street. A JVC CD player valued at $300 was reported missing. There were no signs of forced entry.

At 4:24 p.m., a shed was reported burglarized in the 2500 block of Confederate Avenue. Reported stolen were Craftsman yard tools valued at $900 total, including a lawn mower, a self-propelled lawn mower, a weed trimmer and a power saw. The suspect ripped two doors off their hinges to gain entry into the shed, Williams said.
