Jeralean S. “Jerry” Conrad died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 80.

Born in Franklin Parish, La., Mrs. Conrad had been a Vicksburg resident since 1946. She was a retired telephone operator and had worked at Culkin Elementary cafeteria for 21 years.

Jerry enjoyed growing day lilies and irises that she shared with her friends. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Kirk Conrad; a son, David C. Conrad; her parents, W.R. and Onie Sasser; four brothers, J.Y. Sasser, Claude Sasser, Ray Sasser and O’Neal Sasser; and one sister, Ludell Butler Deen.

Survivors include two sons, Teddy Joe Conrad of Jenks, Okla., and James O’Neal Conrad of Albany, Ore.; two sisters, Jenny Sanders Brown of Vicksburg and Jean Hendry Young of West Monroe, La.; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be nephews Larry Conrad, Eddie Hendry, Danny Ray Knight, Kyle Landers, Kevin Sanders and Shawn Williams.
