Two Mississippi men were in custody this morning charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery after their plan to rob a casino was foiled by Vicksburg police.

Larry Glen Johnson, 17, 108 Warren St., Belzoni, and Glen Edward Allen, 23, 2738 Wallfield, Houlka, in Chickasaw County, were arrested at Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road, at 9:01 p.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.

The men had come to Vicksburg with the intention of robbing one or more of the casinos to get $1 million, Williams said.

Police had received information about their plan, along with a description of their vehicle. A search of casino parking lots led police to the men.

Ski masks, gloves, a .25-caliber handgun and a shotgun were recovered from their car, Williams said. Both were to be arraigned this morning.
