The team will perform three times at Word of Faith Christian Center on Grove Street. The first show will be Friday, the second Nov. 29 and the third Nov. 30.

“It’s really an outreach to the community,” said church member Sidra Burns. “It’s something different that we hope will draw a different crowd, and we’ve heard the show is great.”

Team Impact’s members perform such feats as ripping phone books in half, lifting weights and breaking cement blocks and consider themselves to be creative evangelists, according to the Web site, www.team-impact.com. The ministry operates with a staff of about 20, including support personnel.

Team Impact is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and is a member of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, but partners with Bible believing churches of any denomination. The program has been endorsed by well-known pastors such as Dr. Charles Stanley of First Baptist Church of Atlanta and founder of InTouch Ministries and Dr. Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist in Plano, Texas, which has 27,000 members.

The weekend event at Word of Faith is free and is open to all ages. The show will begin at 7 each night at the church located at 1201 Grove St. Call the church at 601-638-2500 or click here for more information.
