Services for Wilbur Smith will be at noon Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Daryl Moore officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery on Halls Ferry Road.

Mr. Smith died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 78.

Born in Bovina, Mr. Smith was retired from the Vicksburg National Military Park Maintenance Department. He was a member of China Grove M.B. Church and former church secretary. He was worshipful master of Justice Lodge No. 4 A.F.&A.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Pearlie Matthews Smith; five brothers; three sisters; and a daughter, Bridgette R. Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Ceatrice Reese Smith of Vicksburg; a son, Christopher V. Smith of Vicksburg; and one granddaughter and one stepgrandson.
