Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen agenda

On Monday, the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen:

* Witnessed the oath of office and appointment of William Gordon to the Vicksburg Police Department.

* Approved a request from Robert Ware to use three parking spots directly across from 1408 Washington St. to place bleachers for the Christmas parade on Saturday.

* Authorized the mayor to execute a proposal for professional services with Neel-Schaffer engineering firm for an update on the Vicksburg Airport layout plan.

* Awarded contracts for NRCS erosion control projects at Bowmar Avenue and Alfred Drive to Dirt Works Inc. of Vicksburg.

In executive session, the board:

* Approved three employment action forms in the court services, vehicle maintenance and sewer departments.

* Discussed one personnel matter in the police department.

* Discussed the tier pay system for the Vicksburg Fire Department.

The next board meeting is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 10 in room 109 of the City Hall Annex, 1415 Walnut St.
