A dog theft in the 1100 block of Farmer Street has resulted in the arrest and detention of a Vicksburg juvenile, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said today.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Clay Street about two hours after the theft was reported.
Another suspect ran away from the officers and was not found, Williams said.
The dog, a 14-year old Pomeranian, was reported missing by his owner at 11:09 a.m. A neighbor saw two suspicious young men and provided descriptions to police.

The dog suffered a seizure and was taken by its owner to a veterinarian’s office, where it was kept overnight.
The teen was charged with dog theft and taken to the youth detention center.
