Barbara A. Blackledge

Barbara A. Blackledge died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 59.
Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Blackledge was the daughter of the late Sylvan Louis Letney and Ida Lee Carroll Letney. She attended Redwood High School and was employed by the Carpenter Local Union 1964 for a number of years. Mrs. Blackledge was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Blackledge of Redwood; a daughter, Sonia Lewis (Donnie) of Redwood; a son, Eric Blackledge (Andrea) of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Sybil McWilliams (Carl) of Mendenhall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Ann Braxton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Dr. E.L. Sharp, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Carroll, Joe Cole, Glenn Nevels, Vernon Hearst, Jo-Jo Curtis and Nathan Skipworth.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Erin Blackledge, Donnie Ray Lewis, Brett Lewis and Drew Lewis.
