Southern Paws Rescue is requesting Christmas donations of food and treats for dogs and cats in the City of Vicksburg animal shelter.

Debbie Lowery with Southern Paws said the city shelter has more than 110 animals housed.

“Many of these animals have never had any kind of special treat or kindness,” she said, “so this is the season to spread a little cheer for them.”

The drop-off locations for dog or cat food or treats are Southern Paws, Willingham’s, Warrenton Farm & Garden, Belvedere & Co. at the Flower Center, Adolph Rose, Lorelei Book Store and Hometown Medical.
