DETROIT  — Isiah Davis died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, in Detroit. He was 89.

Mr. Davis was a former resident of Bovina. He was a retired auto worker from Ford Motor Co., a member of the El Bethel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Rosie Davis; a brother, Howard Davis; a sister, Pearlie Davis; and a son, Robert Straughter.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelia Hines of Detroit; a sister, Mary Bolls of Vicksburg; and numerous other relatives, including Eliza Straughter.

Smith Mortuary of Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
