Carrie Jane Browning

Carrie Jane Browning died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 72.

Mrs. Browning was born in Tennessee and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 40 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband,  H.J. “Buck” Browning; her parents, James and Dorothy Johnson; a brother, James Johnson; and a sister, Corolyn Johnson.

Survivors include one brother, John Johnson of Chicago; and two sisters, Dianne Barfield and Sue Murphy, both of Savannah, Tenn.; and  Ray and Karen Bottin of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Terry White officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Bottin, Bobby Bottin, Blake Allen and Buddy Terrell.

The honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Walter Johnston.
