Laura Miles Steed died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in Philadelphia. She was 84.

Mrs. Steed was a native of Vicksburg and a former member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a son-in-law, George Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Steed of Vicksburg; a daughter, Alma Jean Brown of Atlanta; a son, Dennis Miles of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Powell Funeral Home in Philadelphia.
