UTICA — Joan Mills died today, Dec. 30, 2008, at her home in Utica. She was 76.

Mrs. Mills was a native of Quitman County and had lived in Utica for the last 24 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Edith and T.R. Mills Sr.

She is survived by two brothers, Curtis Lee “Buddy” Mills of Darling, Miss., and Thomas “Sonny” Mills Jr. of Sledge, Miss.; five sisters, Edna Luis Bua and Irene Tortorich, both of Metairie, La., and Betty Rogers, June Webb and Norma Sue Skelton, all of Utica; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Demoney officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Don Scipper, Johnny Browder, Jerry Skelton, Harvey Skelton, Victor Dorman, Gary Dorman, Gary Mills and Charles Mills.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Dorman, Mike Mills, Tommy Mills, Ronnie Winters and Tye Winters.
