UTICA — Dorothy W. Sweeney died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 86.

Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Sweeney lived in Vidalia, La., for a number of years and had been a Crystal Springs resident for the past five years. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sweeney.

She is survived by one son, Terry Sweeney of Vicksburg; one daughter, Linda Manning of Terry; two sisters, Virginia Yarberry of Dallas and Ruth Curtis of Utica; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Private services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Utica Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Manning, Mark Manning, Jimmy McFarland, Edward Wilson, Ray Curtis and Tim Sweeney.
