Jean R. Beauman

Jean R. “Maw” Beauman died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 80.

Born in Electric Mills, Miss., Mrs. Beauman had been a resident of Vicksburg for more than 70 years and was the daughter of the late Dyke Ryan and Daisy Hope Rigdon Ryan. She was a graduate of Culkin Academy.

Mrs. Beauman was a member of the Warrenton Church of Christ, where she was active in many church activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney H. Beauman; a son, William M. “Mike” Beauman Sr.; a grandson, William M. “Baby Michael” Beauman Jr.; a brother, Louis W. Ryan; and two sisters, Ruby Wilbanks and Pansy Miller.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia J. Kellum, Sylvia B. Brogdon, Jenny R. Muirhead and Clara H. Beauman, all of Vicksburg; a son, Sidney H. Beauman Jr. of Vicksburg; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with Les Ferguson, minister of the Kosciusko Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ryan Beauman, Mitchell Spencer Beauman, J.R. Robinson, Michael Glenn Brogdon Sr., Bumper Brogdon, Ronnie Kellum and Bill Muirhead.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg.
