Vicksburg man held on charge of shoplifting

A Vicksburg man was in Issaquena County Jail on felony shoplifting charges.

Kirk Brown, 20, 734 Locust St., was arrested Wednesday at 3:04 p.m. at Dillard’s, at Pemberton Square mall, after store security contacted police, Vicksburg police records show.

No bond was set.

Computer, stereo missing from vehicles

Electronics and stereo equipment were reported missing in separate auto burglaries Wednesday and Thursday in Vicksburg.

* A laptop computer and carrying case was reported missing at 2:02 p.m. Thursday from a 2008 Chrysler Aspen parked outside Pemberton Square Mall, records show.

The items are valued at $940.

* A Sony stereo and amplifier system was reported missing at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday from a blue Buick Roadmaster in the 1200 block of Crawford Street, records show. The system was valued at $389.

* An Alpine stereo system was reported missing at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday from a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria at Horizon Casino, 1310 Mulberry St., records show.

Stolen car found near rail tracks

A 2006 Mazda 3 reported missing to Vicksburg police Tuesday was recovered Thursday.

An officer on routine patrol discovered the vehicle near railroad tracks at Martha and Bonelli streets at 2:49 p.m., records show. It had been reported missing from the Commodore Apartments, 605 Cain Ridge Road.

A report showed its tag had been removed and was found in the back seat. Items reported by its owner as missing from the vehicle included a child’s car seat, a Barbie laptop and a bingo board game.
