Mr. Paxton marries Miss Luffey

Albert Henry Paxton and Lillian Beth Luffey were married at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17, 2009, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, La.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Louis Luffey Jr. of Monroe. She is the granddaughter of Rosemary Ellis Luffey and the late John Louis Luffey Sr., all of Monroe, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lawrence Salsbury of West Monroe. 

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Theo Paxton of Tallulah. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henry Paxton Sr., the late Valeria Logue Paxton and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry King, all of Tallulah.

Featured soloist was Melissa Fonner Paxton.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a custom gown of Alencon lace with a cathedral-length train complemented by a cathedral-length veil trimmed in Alencon lace.  

Maid of honor was Ashley Celeste Daniel. Matron of honor was Rebecca Gates Ledet.

Bridesmaids were Cynthia Renee Arthur, Jaclyn Cole Bridges, Katherine Hawkins Copes, Meredith Bordelon Ellis, Holly Laudenheimer Grabert, Carlyle Valeria Paxton and Morgan McCue Sport.

Flower girls were Ainsley Ellis Luffey, Annabelle Parker Paxton and Kathleen Carlyle Paxton. 

The groom’s father served as best man.

Groomsmen were John Ryan Allen, Dan Bruce Copes, Edward Hebert Eiland III, Richard Frank Gill Jr., Blake Lee LeBlanc, John Louis Luffey III, William Lance Marsh, Lance Ilar Osborne, Matthew King Paxton and William Theo Paxton Jr.

Ushers were James Carpenter Crigler III, Jon Alexander Draper and Massey Len Shelton. 

Readers were Victoria Rose Arthur and Sarah Charlynne MacPhail. Carlyle Valeria MacPhail and Katherine Sweet MacPhail served as greeters.

Altar servers were Mitchell Edward Webb and James Stephenson Luffey. 

A reception followed at Bayou DeSiard Country Club.

Following a honeymoon to the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa in Sonoma, Calif., the couple will make their home in Baton Rouge.
