Adele Katz Dominick

Mrs. Adele Katz Dominick, formerly of Vicksburg, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Birmingham, Ala. She was 84.

Mrs. Dominick was a long-time resident of Vicksburg and had been involved in numerous community organizations, such as Junior Auxiliary, the board of All Saints’ Episcopal School and The Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Boyd Dominick; and her brother, Howard Martin Katz Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Candice Dominick and husband David and Susan Canon Dominick, both of Birmingham; grandchildren, Michael David Prejean and wife Gayle of Dallas and K’Anne Prejean Cox and husband Dale of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, William Ward and Catherine Elizabeth Prejean and Claire Elizabeth and Cayleigh Marie Cox; her brother, James Katz Powell and wife Betty of Rolla, Mo.; and niece, Patricia Powell Miles and husband Len of Rolla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at The Church of the Holy Trinity in Vicksburg with burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the parish hall of the church.
