Betty Jean Fife Wilson

Betty Jean Fife Wilson died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 76.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Grace, Miss., and grew up in Hermanville. She graduated in 1950 from Port Gibson High School and lived in Vicksburg for many years. She retired from the Vicksburg Evening Post after 33 years of service.

She moved back to Hermanville after her retirement and was a member of the Hermanville Baptist Church. She was a member of the First Families of Mississippi, Eastern Star and Fayette Garden Club.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Wilson of Vicksburg; two sons, James T. Wilson of Vicksburg and Dustin L. Wilson and wife Tamara of Hot Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Jamie Leach and husband Roy of Vicksburg; a sister, Marilyn Cornette of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Colin Leach, Tabatha Wilson, Jeremiah Wilson, Rebecca Stanton and David Leach; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at a later date.
