Entergy customers lose power

Electricity has been restored to about 1,220 Entergy customers in Vicksburg following a power failure Thursday night.

Power was lost shortly before 8 p.m. after a piece of equipment failed at a substation on Porters Chapel Road that serves east Vicksburg, Entergy spokesman Mara Hartmann said.

Swaths of neighborhoods from Marcus Bottom to Oak Park were without power. Crews had power reconnected in about 45 minutes, Hartmann said.
