A Natchez woman was brought to Vicksburg Tuesday to face bad-check charges after being arrested in her home town.
Latasha Yvette Washington, 28, 717 Smith Lane, had been arrested by Natchez officers when they found she was wanted in Vicksburg on a charge from August.
Back in Vicksburg, she was charged with attempted uttering a forgery and possession of a counterfeit instrument, said Suzan Ebeling, crime analyst for the Vicksburg Police Department.
Washington was being held on a $30,000 bond.
The reason for her initial arrest in Natchez was not known.
Shooting victim remains fair
A Vicksburg man shot Monday night remained in the hospital this morning.
Louis Flowers, 18, 571 Fort Hill Drive, remained in fair condition, said River Region Medical Center spokesman Allen Karel.
Flowers’ uncle — Eddie Flowers, 18, 221 Henry St., Jackson — is charged with aggravated assault in the shooting. He had been expected to appear in Municipal Court Tuesday, but remained in the Issaquena County Jail this morning and was expected to appear in court today.
The shooting was reported at 7:50 Monday in the 1300 block of Bowmar Avenue. It had followed a day-long argument between the two, Vicksburg police said.
